District 6 Arts

This site focuses on the present state of the arts in Local District 6, Los Angeles Unified School District The site in divided into 7 PAGES: Home, Calendar, Product, Blog, Beyond D6, Links and Contact.

The Calendar page lists arts events ordered by date, the most recent first. Each event is assigned to a CATEGORY according to the location, or association of the event: School, community or outside Local District 6. Also, each event is assigned a TAG which defines 1. the kind of art: dance, media, music, theatre, or visual arts; 2. the location by city: Vernon, Bell, Cudhy, South Gate, Huntington Park, or Maywood; 3. the location by school: Bell HS, Nueva Vista ES, etc.; 4. the location by Complex: Bell, South Gate Huntington Park, and 5. the Outside Local District 6 category: contests, scholarships, freebies, grants, and further study.

The products page presents examples of student and teacher art in various media. Each entry will be assigned a category or tag. This will allow a used to find all films produced by students at Bell High School.

The Blog page will be an ideal location to post invitations to submit works to upcoming events, awards and honors received by schools, teachers and students, and opinion about the arts in Local District 6 and beyond.

Contests, scholarships, grants, opportunities to acquire free products and opportunities for further study will be grouped on the Beyond District 6 page. The content on this page will be updated in cooperation with the Arts Community Advisers from Local Districts 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8.
